Morose tale of trench warfare in France during World War I. The three principles, Fredric March, Warner Baxter, and Lionel Barrymore, do a proper job here, particularly Warner Baxter. This film has to be one of the most depressing I've seen, but it's well-written, if a bit slow-moving at times. No spoilers, but that ending...oh my!
Would I recommend? Go for it, if you like the genre, the actors, or the period it's set in.
You've reached the end.
