He is an actor, known for Chariots of Fire (1981), A Raging Calm (1974), for playing Detective Inspector Maddan in the final series of Z Cars in 1978, and for two stints on Coronation Street; the first, in the 1970s, was as Frank Bradley, the criminal on/off lover of Bet Lynch, and in the early 1990s as Deirdre Barlow's club-owning lover Phil Jennings.
