"Butterfly" is very much your standard, pro Western action series.

The Russians are the bad guys, there's a nefarious covert organisation filled with assassins, a story of family and the virtuous US out to bring justice to the world. Plus a few woke extra's.

Typically, I'd probably give a series this formulaic and tiresomely predictable, a pass.

What makes "Butterfly" work is well choreographed action scenes and above average acting. Its never going to be a great series but its mildly diverting if you can look past the clumsy social engineering and politicking.

In summary, a formulaic but nonetheless diverting action series, that's elevated by polished production values and decent acting.

You've reached the end.
