NG is a lousy, hot-tempered old lady. She has married SIN for years. They have two sons and two daughters, who have all married and moved out to live independently.
Today, all are coming home to celebrate their father's birthday. However, the atmosphere at this family gathering is a bit uneasy. They all seem to be too unfamiliar with each other.
While NG is busily packing for their trip to the USA. The bad news that SIN is killed in an accident arrives.

A few years pass, but NG still misses her late husband deadly. In fear that she would commit suicide, her children suggest her to move out to live with them. However, NG refuses to desert her old lodging. Instead, she asks them to move back to live with her. They hesitate, as they are all aware that their mother is difficult to get along.
CHIU, the eldest, calls upon his brother and sisters to have a family meeting. Everyone tries to make excuses and shifts the responsibility to the others.
Finally, CHIU is chosen to be the one. However, he finds it difficult to tell his wife CHUN about this, since he already knew that his mother has always discriminated CHUN.
