Human teacher Max Schneider has unwittingly taken a job at Gravedale High, a school for monsters, near the city of Midtown. Schneider, the only human in the school, presides over a group of ghoulish teenagers that are latest-generation versions of classic movie monsters. Most of Schneider's students are either disruptive, uninterested, and/or unduly self-preoccupied in school, and the class is generally considered disreputable if not uncontrollable (not unlike "the Sweathogs" in Welcome Back, Kotter), the implication being Schneider was hired to teach the class because no monster teacher would take the job.

1. Long Day's Gurney Into Night

Sid has tonsillitis, and has to go to a human hospital to get it sorted out. How does one perform an operation on someone who is invisible?

2. Do the Rad Thing

Gill leaves school after Kahuna Bob, his surfer hero, offers to train and mentor him. It'll take more than Schneider, and Gill's schoolmates, to persuade him back to class.

3. Cleo's Pen Pal

Cleo learns that honesty is by far the best policy when she sends Duzer's picture instead of her own when writing to 'Trudy and the Beast' actor Billy Headstone.

4. Monster Gumbo

Blanche's monster gumbo recipe proves a real hit for the United Monster Fund's annual charity drive — so much so that Big Daddy will do anything to acquire it for his Gumbo Emporium.

5. The Dress Up Mess Up

Duzer's plan to win a dress design competition in order to join Mr Schneider's birthday celebration is a spectacular failure — as is the teacher's party. Can a beefburger adequately replace a posh French dinner?

6. The Grave Intruder

Duzer's attempt to liven up the school's newspaper with sensationalism and scandal can only lead to trouble — and a better understanding of the power of the press.

Vinnie is struck by lightning while helping Reggie with his science project and the resultant vertigo makes him afraid to fly. Will he recover before he has to face Nardo in a 'fly or splat' challenge?

The class learns an important lesson about the value of family when Frankentyke's hunky big brother Frankie pays a visit.

Threatened with an F if he fails his politics class, Vinnie stands for school president — and wins. But can he rally the students when unscrupulous developers plot to demolish the school and replace it with a luxury hotel?

11. Night of the Living Dad

When the students' parents are invited to the school's talent show, Frankentyke, embarrassed by the fact that his father is a human, builds a pseudo dad — who turns out to be even more embarrassing than the real one.
