**SEASON ONE (2020) REVIEW:**

Season Rating: 6/10

Overall Rating: 6/10

Very hit-and-miss.

I've never seen episodes from the original 'Spitting Image' series from the 80s/90s so cannot comment on how it continues from that. This new series is alright, though not as funny as I think they want it to be. I never laughed out loud once, but there are a few chucklesome moments here-and-there. The episodes are so short, ~20 mins, that it's a fine show to fill a gap each evening.

The puppeteering is impressive, I will say that. The puppets themselves are, again, hit-and-miss. Good/amusing ones include Boris Johnson, Dominic Cummings and Donald Trump. As for the bad/unfunny ones: Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Brad Pitt, Kanye West... more fall under this category than the former, to be honest.

Some of the running jokes are boring, especially the ones involving Markle/Harry, Elon Musk & Co. and "Govey in Paris". It it wasn't for the goodness involving Johnson, Trump et al. - which is easy pickings, given the material those lot give - then it would be a very lame show. It's treading a fine line with the caricatures, too.

You've reached the end.
